Chadian Woman Arrested in Borno With Suspected Terror Supplies

Chadian Woman Arrested in Borno With Suspected Terror Supplies

Troops from Operation HADIN KAI intercepted a vehicle along the Maiduguri–Monguno route and arrested a 48-year-old Chadian woman. She was found carrying illicit drugs, alcoholic drinks and other banned substances believed destined for terrorists on the Lake Chad Islands. Among the seized items were seven compressed bundles of suspected cannabis (around 30kg), two 10-litre containers of hydromercuric chloride known as “Suck and Die,” one carton of dry gin and 61 bottles of herbal alcoholic beverages. Security forces also recovered a mobile phone, ATM cards, cash and other personal belongings. The suspect is now in military custody while all exhibits await handover to the appropriate law enforcement agency for further investigation and prosecution. Operation HADIN KAI says disrupting supply channels is key to weakening extremist groups in the North-East and urges residents to continue sharing reliable intelligence.

Regular vehicle checkpoints and random cargo inspections along the Maiduguri–Monguno route could help disrupt these smuggling operations promptly.
