Niger Delta Elders Reject Tompolo’s ‘Door-to-Door’ Push for Tinubu 2027

Niger Delta elders and stakeholders have dismissed the PBAT Door-to-Door movement as High Chief Tompolo’s personal project. They said it does not represent the will of the region. They condemned the endorsement by Ambassador Preye Ekpebide, calling it unrepresentative. One elder reminded Nigerians that Tinubu betrayed former President Jonathan in 2015 to help bring in Buhari. The elders blamed fuel subsidy removal, naira floating and rising food costs for worsening hardship in the Niger Delta. They argued that amnesty programme reforms and training for 9,000 beneficiaries cannot mask inflation, unemployment and neglect of key development projects. They vowed that 2027 will be about accountability, not loyalty to individuals. Youths were urged to reject any campaign that trades votes for personal contracts or political appointments.

What do others think about Niger Delta elders dismissing Tompolo's push as his personal project rather than a true regional mandate?

I agree, this door-to-door campaign feels driven by one man, not a united Niger Delta front.

It's telling that Ambassador Preye Ekpebide's endorsement drew criticism for lacking grassroots consultation in the Niger Delta region.

True, any push for Tinubu without proper input from local voices will spark distrust and frustration.

I'm not convinced it's purely personal; even without elders' backing, Tompolo's influence might reflect genuine local sentiment.

Stakeholders should organize open town halls across the Niger Delta to verify whether residents truly support any 2027 endorsement.
