Oyo Police Arrest 11 LAUTECH Students in Eiye Cultism Crackdown

Oyo Police Arrest 11 LAUTECH Students in Eiye Cultism Crackdown

Oyo State Police Command says it has arrested 11 students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, over alleged involvement in the Eiye Confraternity. Operatives from the Violent Crime Response Unit acted on credible intelligence that suspected members had gathered at hideouts in Under-G, Yuako and Adenike to plan attacks within the student community. They moved swiftly, disrupted the plot and apprehended the suspects before any violence could occur. During interrogation, the students confessed to cult membership and preliminary investigations linked them to violent crimes, including murder. Searches of their hideouts recovered four locally fabricated pistols, 11 live cartridges, a cutlass, cult axes, a dagger and a red hooded cap. The Commissioner of Police commended the operatives’ professionalism and assured the public that remaining suspects on the run would be arrested. He said the students will be charged to court once investigations conclude and urged citizens to provide information to help combat cultism and other violent crimes.
