Onaiyekan to Tinubu Presidency: ‘We’re Done Talking, Govern Better’
Archbishop Emeritus of Abuja, John Cardinal Onaiyekan, has urged the Tinubu administration to focus on improving governance rather than responding to criticism from Catholic bishops. Speaking during a radio interview in Ogun State, Onaiyekan said the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria had already presented its assessment of the country’s economy and security to President Bola Tinubu at the State House. He said the bishops were not advancing a Catholic agenda, but speaking from a moral responsibility to all Nigerians. Onaiyekan added that public reaction on social media had made further engagement with government spokespersons unnecessary.
