FIFA Ends COO Kevin Lamour’s Tenure After Infantino Criticism
FIFA has ended Kevin Lamour’s tenure as chief operating officer, weeks after he publicly criticised President Gianni Infantino and opposed a proposed commercial venture. Lamour described the proposed FIFA Forward Enterprise as “the project of one person” and said FIFA officials had been misled about it. The venture was meant to manage commercial and ticketing rights for FIFA competitions. The plan was shelved after UEFA, Concacaf and the Asian Football Confederation opposed selling a 21 per cent stake to private investors. The dispute comes as several football associations withdraw support for Infantino’s bid for a fourth term as FIFA president.
