Record Nine African Nations Advance to 2026 World Cup Round of 32

Nine of the ten African teams at the expanded 2026 FIFA World Cup have reached the Round of 32. This marks the best performance ever for the continent. Tunisia was the only side to exit after finishing bottom of Group F. The successful nations are South Africa, Ivory Coast, Cape Verde, DR Congo and Algeria. Algeria secured the final spot with a dramatic 3-3 draw against Austria.
