APC Chairman Vows to Block Defectors from Hijacking Party Ahead of 2027

At a stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja, APC national chairman Nentawe Yilwatda pledged that defectors will not be allowed to take over existing party structures ahead of the 2027 elections. He said new entrants must respect legacy members, submit accepted resignation letters from their former parties, and follow all constitutional procedures. Yilwatda also promised a power-sharing formula to integrate both defectors and long-standing members in the FCT chapter. He reminded members that zoning arrangements for the FCT were strictly followed and reaffirmed the eight-year limit on consecutive office tenures under the Nigerian Constitution.
