Wike Promises Goodluck Jonathan Way Completion in December, Subject to Funding
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike says the long-abandoned Inner Southern Expressway, also known as Goodluck Jonathan Way, will be completed and handed over by December, subject to funding. The 10-kilometre road runs from the Southern Parkway to Ring Road II in Galadimawa and includes five bridges. Wike said six kilometres of work remain and described the route as vital to Abuja’s southern development corridor. He also inspected service-carriageway projects along the Southern Parkway in Gaduwa. Wike said completing inherited projects, including the Apo-Karshi Road, aligns with the Federal Government’s commitment to end abandoned projects. On Rivers politics, Wike welcomed Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s reported return to his political camp and said it could strengthen support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of 2027.
