Police Arrest 11 Suspects, Recover Weapons and Stolen Vehicles in Seven States, FCT
The Nigeria Police Force says it arrested 11 suspects and recovered weapons, stolen vehicles and other items during operations in seven states and the FCT between August 4 and 7, 2026. In Adamawa, detectives arrested a suspect linked to the killing of a retired police inspector. Police said the suspect also allegedly confessed to killing his father, whose remains were later exhumed from an open well. Other operations led to arrests connected to alleged kidnapping, armed robbery, firearms dealing and cultism in Bauchi, Delta, Osun, Plateau and Akwa Ibom. In Katsina, suspected armed robbers reportedly fled after exchanging gunfire with police, abandoning a stolen motorcycle. The FCT Command also arrested a robbery suspect, recovered two allegedly stolen vehicles, and rescued a suspected motorcycle snatcher from a mob. Police said all the cases remain under investigation.
