Adamawa’s Aisha Binani Defects to NDC, Shakes Up 2027 Race
In a major move for the 2027 elections, former APC governorship candidate Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani has joined the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC). She was received in Abuja by NDC National Leader Henry Seriake Dickson and party officials. Binani said the party’s constitution and policy-driven governance inspired her decision. She stressed that her supporters’ interests guided her move, noting many had already registered with the NDC before her formal switch. Dickson welcomed her into a leadership role in Adamawa State. He described the NDC as open and inclusive, calling on other politicians to consider the party as a viable platform. Binani’s defection is expected to reshape alignments in Adamawa and strengthen the NDC’s national expansion ahead of 2027.
