Delta Police PRO Attributes Fatal Shooting of Suspect to ‘Spiritual Attack’
The Delta State Police Command says the officer who shot and killed a suspect in Effurun will be tried for murder. The command’s spokesperson disclosed on a national news programme that ASP Nuhu Usman has been transferred to Force Headquarters in Abuja for disciplinary action. The PRO described the officer’s conduct as unprofessional and said only a spiritual influence could explain such violent action. He also explained that covering the officer’s face in the press statement was standard procedure to protect his privacy. The incident, captured on a viral video, involved the 28-year-old suspect, Mene Ogidi, who was allegedly intercepted with a parcel containing a Beretta pistol and ammunition. The shooting has sparked widespread outrage and raised questions about adherence to police operating procedures.
