Justice Department Says All Trump Investigators Have Been Removed

Justice Department Says All Trump Investigators Have Been Removed

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche told a conference that every DOJ and FBI staffer involved in President Trump’s criminal probes has either been fired, resigned, or taken early retirement. He claimed more than 200 people left those teams. Blanche spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference and said no one who worked on Trump’s classified documents or election-interference cases remains in the department. Both prosecutions by Special Counsel Jack Smith were dropped before Trump returned to office in January 2025. Many received termination letters saying they couldn’t be trusted to carry out the president’s agenda. FBI Director Kash Patel later dismissed a dozen agents linked to the documents investigation amid an internal review of Smith’s team. The author argues this mirrors a familiar strategy: • Weaken key institutions • Create scapegoats • Instill fear • Avoid clear principles • Wear down opponents They warn this pattern repeats unless checked.

Why did the Justice Department choose to remove every investigator from Trump probes, and what does this say about ongoing accountability?

It's striking that over 200 staffers either resigned, retired early, or were fired, suggesting a significant shake-up at the DOJ's investigative teams.

I'm not convinced this purge is purely political; internal conflicts and performance issues could have played an equally powerful role here.

It might help to review past case schedules and staffing patterns to understand how team changes could affect ongoing or future probes.
