Could Capping Wealth and Social Rules Create a Fairer Nation?
I’ve been reflecting on a recent report about China executing a public official for corruption. It raised the question: how far should we limit human greed? Think about it. We all share the same basic needs—food, shelter, clothing—but some chase billions. How much is enough to live comfortably? And if our essentials are covered, why crave more? What if a country built its laws around these ideas? 1. One home per person, with government-supported housing for those in need. 2. Universal digital IDs to curb crime and fraud. 3. A strict cap on personal wealth, with investigations and redistribution of any excess. 4. Regulated family size to balance population growth. 5. Oversight of religious practices to prevent exploitation and threats to public order. 6. Death penalty for kidnapping and armed robbery. 7. Open access to farmland for genuine farmers. Would these measures make a nation more stable and equitable, or would they bring new problems?
