Genk Consider Summer Sale for Nigerian Winger Yira Collins Sor

Genk Consider Summer Sale for Nigerian Winger Yira Collins Sor

Belgian side KRC Genk are weighing up the sale of Nigerian winger Yira Collins Sor when the season ends. Sor has just one year left on his contract and no extension talks are underway. According to Belgian media, Genk do not want to risk losing him on a free transfer next year. The 25-year-old joined the club from Slavia Prague in December 2022 and has already scored six goals with two assists across all competitions this season. In recent years, fellow Nigerians Paul Onuachu and Tolu Arokodare both moved from Genk to Premier League clubs. Sor is currently with the Nigerian national team as they prepare for friendlies against Iran and Jordan.

Do you think Genk will really cash in on Sor this summer rather than risk losing him for free next year?

Makes sense to sell Sor this summer and avoid losing him for nothing next year.

You're right, making a decision now seems wiser. Genk surely don't want to lose Sor without compensation.

It's odd there's been no contract extension talk despite Sor's good form and only one year left on his deal.

Maybe Genk are overreacting by wanting to sell Sor now; clubs usually extend the contracts of promising players rather than cash in hastily.

Genk should open contract talks immediately or secure a preemptive sale before Sor's deal expires to protect their investment.
