Pride Month Reflection: How Jesus Set Me Free from My Transgender Past
Pride Month once meant freedom to me. For twenty years I lived as a transgender man. Parties and addiction became my identity. During Las Vegas Pride, I overdosed on Molly. At WeHo Pride I was hospitalized for alcohol poisoning. Medical staff saw my body, not my story. Jesus Christ changed everything. His grace erased my past and healed my heart. I no longer identify with rainbow symbols, because my true freedom comes from Him. If you feel trapped by identity or lifestyle, there is hope in Christ. The teaching in Acts 2:38 invites you to new life. This Pride Month, I celebrate a freedom no party could ever give.
