Jurassic Park Star Sam Neill Dies Suddenly at 78

Jurassic Park Star Sam Neill Dies Suddenly at 78

Veteran New Zealand actor Sam Neill has passed away in Sydney at the age of 78. His family described his death as sudden and unexpected but did not disclose a cause. Neill had been declared cancer-free after battling a rare form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. He famously played palaeontologist Dr. Alan Grant in Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park and returned for later instalments in the franchise. He also appeared as Chief Inspector Chester Campbell in the first two seasons of Peaky Blinders. His long career spanned landmark films such as The Piano, The Hunt for Red October and Dead Calm, as well as roles in independent projects. Born in Northern Ireland and raised in New Zealand, Neill ran a vineyard and won fans with his humorous farm updates online. He reflected on his life and career in a memoir published last year.

It's odd his family won't share causes after he was declared cancer-free; it leaves too many unanswered details.

I'm not convinced this sudden death news isn't sensationalized; sometimes the media overplays celebrity stories for clicks.
