Katsina NNPP Orders All Members to Register with ADC

The Katsina chapter of the New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) has asked members in all 34 local government areas to register with the African Democratic Congress (ADC). State secretary Tijjani Kafinsoli made the announcement in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria. This directive follows national leader Sen. Rabiu Kwankwaso’s move to the ADC as part of preparations for the 2027 elections. Kafinsoli explained that executive members and office holders should stay in their positions unless they choose to resign for other political paths. Party officials from ward to state levels must transition together, Kafinsoli said, and avoid individual registrations. Ordinary NNPP card-holding members are urged to secure their ADC membership cards and attach them to their voter cards. Discussions are underway between the NNPP and ADC to form a unified party structure ahead of the general elections.

It's unexpected for one party chapter to direct members to register with another political group across 34 LGAs.

I'm not convinced this move will strengthen NNPP's position; seems like it might dilute their own membership base.

Party leaders should clearly explain how registering with ADC benefits members and outline any long-term collaboration plans.
