Overcoming Bad Habits Through Faith and Self-Control

Overcoming Bad Habits Through Faith and Self-Control

Bad habits can take root quickly, while good character requires daily care. This Christian devotional encourages us to guard our minds, hearts and actions, resisting sin and self-indulgence through self-control and faith. Like a neglected field that becomes overgrown with thorns, the heart needs consistent attention. Through the grace of Christ, we can grow in purity, strength and moral discipline. Prayer: Heavenly Father, help us to guard our hearts and overcome sinful habits. Forgive us, strengthen us to do what is right, and provide for our needs. Grant us good health and make our lives a testimony of Your goodness. In Jesus’ name, Amen. Share your testimonies and prayer requests as we encourage one another in faith. This devotional is adapted from a Christian devotional text.
