A fire broke out at the private residence of the Ankpa Local Government Area chairman in Kogi State on the morning of Wednesday, July 8. The blaze caused extensive damage to household goods and valuables before it was brought under control. According to the chairman’s chief press secretary, the family was safely evacuated with no casualties. Neighbours and local residents rushed in to help contain the flames and prevent the fire from spreading to nearby buildings. Eyewitnesses described thick smoke and urgent cries for help.
