South African Agencies Deny Nigerian Hackers Breached Their Systems
The South African Revenue Service has dismissed claims that its systems were breached by Nullsec Nigeria. The hacktivist group alleged it hacked SARS and the country’s Information Technology Agency. Both agencies say no evidence supports the cyberattack claims. A local cybersecurity researcher also questioned the authenticity of the leaked data. Nullsec Nigeria insists the files are genuine but has not released them publicly to protect personal information. The South African Police Service website was briefly down due to planned maintenance. Earlier claims of a hack on the Department of Correctional Services were part of a campaign protesting xenophobic violence against foreign nationals.
