Police Arrest 23-Year-Old for Alleged Beheading of Six-Year-Old in Ibadan
On Saturday in Adigun Village, Ibadan, officers arrested a 23-year-old man accused of severing the head of six-year-old Mutiyatu Sunday. DSP Ayanlade Olayinka said the command received reports of an unlawful killing. Operatives rescued the suspect from an irate mob and recovered the victim’s head. The suspect, injured during the mob attack, was treated at a medical facility. He will be transferred to the State CID for further investigation and prosecution. State CP Abimbola Olugbenga cautioned residents against jungle justice. He warned that mob violence hinders investigations and pledged that justice will prevail.
