Peter Olayinka Completes Move to Saudi Arabia's Al Wehda

Nigerian forward Peter Olayinka has completed a permanent move to Saudi Arabian club Al Wehda after leaving APOEL Nicosia as a free agent. The 30-year-old scored twice in 14 league appearances for APOEL. He previously had successful spells with Slavia Prague, where he won three league titles and three Czech Cups, and Red Star Belgrade, where he won two domestic doubles. Olayinka has also played in Belgium and represented Nigeria at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

How do you see this move working out for Olayinka at 30, especially after a limited scoring return in Cyprus?

Fair concern. The move will need to offer the right fit and a clear chance to contribute.

Leaving APOEL as a free agent makes this a fresh start, and his Slavia Prague record suggests he has handled demanding spells before.

Two goals in 14 league appearances is not much, so the Slavia Prague success should not automatically raise expectations for Al Wehda.
