Osun APC Warns Olubadan Ladoja Against Endorsing Adeleke’s ‘Substandard’ Flyovers

Osun APC Warns Olubadan Ladoja Against Endorsing Adeleke’s ‘Substandard’ Flyovers

The Osun APC Campaign Council has cautioned the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja, against lending his respected name to two flyover projects in Osogbo. The council claims these flyovers were poorly executed by firms with no track record in road or bridge construction. According to the council, both LAMECO and Okefia flyovers were delivered by companies known for youth training and estate agency work rather than engineering. It alleges visible structural defects, ignored professional warnings and incomplete materials testing before commissioning. The warning reflects the party’s respect for the monarch’s reputation. The council also accuses the outgoing administration of inflating project costs and routinely awarding infrastructure contracts to unqualified firms, citing the ₦100 billion Ede Airport contract given to an interior decoration company.

Which benchmarks do you think should be applied to judge those flyovers' quality?

It's interesting how quickly political parties accuse each other of shoddy workmanship without presenting detailed evidence or independent assessments of those flyovers.

I'm not convinced that endorsing or rejecting these projects will change much; maybe we're focusing on personalities instead of actual road safety concerns.

Before any endorsement, the council should insist on clear records proving contractor competence, plus an independent audit to verify project quality and safety.
