Panic as Machete-Wielding Migrant Attacks Vehicles in Tripoli’s Janzour
Authorities in western Tripoli have arrested an undocumented migrant after he randomly attacked passing cars and pedestrians with a machete in the Janzour district. Believed to be mentally unstable, the assailant swung the weapon at vehicles and people until a passerby fired a shot, wounding him in the leg. He was then taken to hospital for treatment. Local residents described the scene as terrifying and said the incident caused widespread panic. According to the Libya Observer, the suspect is now in custody and has been referred to the public prosecutor for legal proceedings.
