Wike Says Amaechi Has No Electoral Value in Rivers Ahead of 2027
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike says former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi has no meaningful electoral value in Rivers State or the wider South-South region. Speaking during a media chat in Abuja, Wike argued that Amaechi did not deliver significant votes in past presidential elections despite serving as a two-term governor, a presidential campaign director-general and a former minister. Wike said any consideration of Amaechi for a major national role ahead of 2027 could not be based on electoral strength. He also maintained that his political structure remains dominant in Rivers State, deepening their long-running rivalry.
