Six African Nations Through to 2026 World Cup Round of 32

Ghana and Cape Verde have become the latest African teams to secure places in the last 32 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. They join Egypt, Morocco, South Africa and Côte d’Ivoire as the continent’s representatives in the knockout stage. Ghana progressed despite one group match remaining, while Cape Verde sealed second spot in their group with a third straight draw. Tunisia’s campaign ended in the group phase. Senegal, Algeria and the Democratic Republic of Congo still await confirmation of their fate as possible best third-placed qualifiers.
