From Data to Dashboard: My CarePulse Capstone on Women Techsters Demo Day

From Data to Dashboard: My CarePulse Capstone on Women Techsters Demo Day — 1 of 4
1 / 4

Alhamdulillah! I just wrapped up Cohort 5.1 of the Women Techsters Bootcamp with an exciting Demo Day and capstone presentation. In Group 12, our multidisciplinary team built CarePulse, a maternal health risk analysis dashboard. We sourced and analyzed real patient data, developed a risk classification model, and designed an interactive dashboard to support early detection of pregnancy complications. The judges praised our clear problem framing, measurable impact, and visual storytelling. Key lessons included framing insights with business metrics, crafting engaging slides, and turning analysis into actionable reports. This journey pushed my skills in Excel, SQL, Python, and Power BI to new heights. I’m grateful to the bootcamp organizers, mentors, and my teammates for their guidance and collaboration. I look forward to applying these skills to future data-driven projects.

What inspired your team to choose maternal health for the capstone dashboard, and how did you define the key risk indicators?

It's impressive to see real patient data used, but I wonder how you addressed potential biases or gaps in the dataset before analysis.

Dashboards often fall out of date fast. I hope you have plans for ongoing data maintenance beyond the demo day.

To scale this tool in local clinics, consider training staff on data entry standards and deploying simple user guides for nontechnical healthcare workers.
