Kaduna Catholic Priest Regains Freedom After Three-Month Captivity
Rev. Fr. Nathaniel Asuwaye of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Karku was abducted on February 7 during an early-morning raid in Kauru Local Government Area. Gunmen also seized 10 villagers and killed three others in the attack. The Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan confirmed his release on May 12 and said he is now receiving medical care. Church leaders described his return as a testimony to answered prayers. The diocese expressed gratitude to everyone who offered support and urged residents to stay united in faith and continue looking out for one another amid ongoing security challenges.
