IGP Disu Assures Officers: State Police Won’t Replace NPF

Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu spoke to personnel in Dutse, Jigawa, to clear up confusion over the planned state police. He stressed that creating state policing structures does not mean abolishing the Nigeria Police Force or cancelling ranks, pensions, and accrued benefits. Disu acknowledged officers’ concerns and urged calm, assuring them their employment and career progression remain fully protected as debates continue.
