Buratai Hails Tinubu, Security Agencies for Rescue of Abducted Oyo Schoolchildren

Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai (rtd.) has praised the Nigerian Armed Forces and other security agencies for the successful rescue of abducted pupils, teachers and staff in Oyo State. He called the operation a major win in the fight against terrorism. Buratai congratulated President Bola Tinubu for his leadership and support. He said intelligence-led coordination among agencies is proving effective against criminal networks. He urged sustained investment in intelligence gathering, surveillance technology and welfare for security personnel. He also appealed to citizens to provide timely, credible information and remain vigilant in their communities. The retired Army chief recommended stronger protection around schools, improved community-based security and swift deployment of rapid-response units. He offered sympathy to the family of the teacher who died and stressed that those responsible must face justice.
