Anambra Family Demands Transparent Probe After 65-Year-Old Mother Stabbed to Death
The family of 65-year-old Regina Nwoye has appealed to President Bola Tinubu, Governor Chukwuma Soludo, and security agencies for a full investigation into her killing. A petition signed by her daughter, a broadcast journalist, urged authorities to identify and prosecute all involved. Nwoye was attacked at her home in Ogbu Village, Ivite Umueri, on July 14, 2026. According to the petition, she was stabbed multiple times and left to bleed. Neighbours say more than one person may have taken part, although only one suspect has been handed over to the police. The family also raised concerns about delays in medical treatment. They allege she was moved between hospitals in Awka for hours before she died. Anambra police have confirmed receipt of the petition. The family insists it only seeks the truth, justice, and accountability that every Nigerian deserves.
