Katsina Police Launch Manhunt After 11 Killed in Kankia Attacks
The Katsina State Police Commissioner has vowed to apprehend the bandits responsible for a deadly reprisal attack that claimed 11 lives in communities around Kankia. He announced that tactical teams are already on an aggressive manhunt following the attacks on Jeka da Kolo and Kwalgoro villages. Officers had earlier foiled cattle rustling attempts in Gadar Yan Tulu and Kartaka, recovered 205 animals, and repelled an assault on Matinjin village, injuring several attackers and seizing eight motorcycles. Additional patrols and bush-combing operations are now underway to track the fleeing suspects. The commissioner described the killings as “cowardly and barbaric,” offered condolences to the victims’ families and urged residents to remain vigilant and share credible intelligence. Further updates will follow as investigations progress.
