My Date Brought Meat Pie to a Pepper Soup Joint and I Wanted to Disappear

After talking to this guy for a while, we finally agreed to meet. He travelled to my area before heading for a wedding the next day. When he arrived at the park, I suggested we meet somewhere quieter because the park was too crowded. On my way there, rain started and I got half-drenched. He later told me he had found a pepper soup joint nearby after taking a short walk in the rain. I decided to wait for the rain to reduce before joining him, but he insisted it was only a drizzle. When we finally met, he asked if I was hungry. With the cold weather, I expected pepper soup. Instead, he brought out a meat pie tied in a black nylon bag and proudly said it was the best snack from his area. To make matters worse, someone from my department walked into the place and recognised me while I was soaked, holding the meat pie, with his travel bag under the table.
