Opposition Primaries Reveal Weak Voter Turnout Ahead of 2027 Election
All major parties have completed their primaries and named flagbearers for the January 2027 presidential contest. INEC figures show the APC submitted 12.9 million registered voters for its primary. In contrast, the PDP managed only 2.4 million. The ADC recorded 1.6 million and the NDC just 700,000. These numbers point to poor mobilisation and weak member engagement. I feel ashamed that opposition parties had one job—to offer credible checks on the ruling party—and failed so badly. Perhaps Nigerians should reject all flagbearers at every level to voice our disappointment. Do you share this concern?
