Chief Vincent Udobi, 11 Others to Face Court Over Alleged Attack on Ifitedunu Ex-PG
Chief Vincent Udobi, known as Ike Dunukofia or Onwa Ifitedunu, and 11 associates will be arraigned at the Awka State High Court on June 19, 2026. They face charges including assault, attempted murder, theft and conspiracy after a brutal attack on former President General Uchenna Nwoye in 2023. Nwoye’s petition says he sustained spinal cord injuries during the incident at Nkwo Market. An investigation by the State Criminal Investigation Department led to the current charges. At the May hearing, Udobi and one accomplice cited ill health and the case was adjourned to June. The former PG also alleges a campaign to intimidate witnesses. He and two of his supporters were recently arrested on separate allegations he believes were fabricated. He is calling for justice and protection for himself and his witnesses as the trial approaches.
