Netanyahu Ousts Spain from Gaza Civil-Military Coordination Centre

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expelled Spain’s representatives from the US-led Civil-Military Coordination Centre in Kiryat Gat. He accused Spain of siding against Israel after it recognised a Palestinian state in 2024 and withdrew its ambassador. The centre was set up after the October ceasefire to monitor the truce and deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza. France, Britain and the UAE remain involved in security and aid discussions. Netanyahu warned that nations critical of Israel’s handling of Gaza can’t be trusted as partners. Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has been a vocal critic of Israel’s actions since the conflict began in October 2023.
