Super Falcons to Face Black Queens in Casablanca Friendly Ahead of WAFCON
Nigeria’s Super Falcons will take on Ghana’s Black Queens in a warm-up match on Saturday in Casablanca as preparations heat up for the 14th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. The 10-time champions opened camp in Morocco’s economic hub with 10 players already in place. Midfielder Toni Payne, fresh from her move to Inter Milan Women, is expected to join the squad on Wednesday. Under coach Justine Madugu, the Falcons trained at Stade el Arbi Zaouli. Captain Rasheedat Ajibade leads a squad that includes Chiamaka Nnadozie, Asisat Oshoala and other top stars. After the friendly, Nigeria will open their Group C campaign against Malawi in Rabat on 28 July, before facing Zambia on 1 August and Egypt on 5 August. The top four semi-finalists will qualify directly for next year’s Women’s World Cup.
