Police Nab Two Suspected Kidnappers in FCT–Nasarawa Border Raid
The Nigeria Police Force has arrested two suspected members of a notorious kidnapping syndicate linked to the deadly May 16 attack on Gbagalape Community. Police spokesperson said Buhari Adamu and Abubakar Saidu abducted residents and killed or injured others along the FCT–Nasarawa border. Intelligence-led operations between June 24 and 26 led to their capture in Gbagalape, Mararaba and Abuja. Investigators recovered an AK-47 rifle, 22 rounds of ammunition, 14 cows and three sheep believed to be proceeds of crime. Preliminary statements from the suspects are aiding efforts to track down other gang members. The Inspector-General of Police reaffirmed the force’s commitment to intelligence-driven actions against violent networks and urged citizens to provide timely information to prevent further attacks.
