Visa services at the U.S. Consulate in Lagos remain unchanged. Emergency and appointment-based services for American citizens continue at both posts. This decision follows a new security advisory that ordered non-essential staff departures from Abuja. The U.S. also added five states to its “Do Not Travel” list while maintaining a Level 3 “Reconsider Travel” rating for Nigeria due to crime, unrest and limited medical facilities.
