NMA to Cover Medical Expenses of Police Injured in Doctor’s Rescue in Anambra
The Nigeria Medical Association in Anambra has praised the state police command for rescuing Dr Edwin Emegakor after his abduction from Crown Hospital, Nkpor. During an emergency meeting, the NMA announced it would settle all medical bills for officers wounded in the May 10 rescue operation led by the Rapid Response/Anti-Kidnap Squad at Awkuzu. The association also suspended a planned strike and urged the state and federal government to strengthen security measures, including calls for State Police, to curb the growing wave of kidnappings and protect lives in Anambra.
