I was surprised to hear Governor Ademola Adeleke thank President Bola Tinubu after his election victory and pledge support for him ahead of the 2027 general elections. This raises questions for me. Was Tinubu involved in Adeleke’s victory despite the APC fielding an opposing candidate? If so, how should Osun voters and party members who faced violence and intimidation during the campaign view the governor’s remarks? I believe Adeleke should clarify whether he was crediting Tinubu for his victory or simply making a political gesture. The people of Osun deserve to know who truly earned their mandate.
