Nigeria, Türkiye Sign Mining Partnership MoU to Boost Investment and Technology Transfer
Nigeria and the Republic of Türkiye have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to deepen cooperation in the solid minerals sector. The deal, sealed at the Istanbul Natural Resources Summit, aims to attract investment, strengthen governance, and transfer mining technology to Nigeria. At the signing, Minister of Solid Minerals Development Dele Alake said Nigeria will leverage Türkiye’s expertise in exploration, digitization, licensing systems, and capacity building. He added that President Bola Tinubu fully supports efforts to expand ties in mining and energy. Türkiye’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar joined Mr. Alake to discuss technology transfer, energy collaboration, and broader industrial expansion under the new agreement.
