Osun Police Arrest Four in Modakeke, Recover Two Firearms

The Osun State Police Command says it has arrested four people in Modakeke, Ife East Local Government Area, over allegations of conspiracy, attempted murder, assault and unlawful possession of firearms. Police said the suspects were arrested on 9 August after a petition was submitted to the Commissioner of Police. Officers reportedly recovered a locally made cut-to-size gun from one suspect’s shop and a pump-action gun from another suspect’s residence. The suspects remain in custody as investigations continue. In a separate operation, the command said it arrested six suspects after armed hoodlums allegedly invaded the Iree campus and injured two students. Two of the suspects allegedly confessed to belonging to the Aye confraternity. Police said all suspects would be charged after investigations are concluded.
