How I Attended My First Live Football Match in Germany for Only €20

How I Attended My First Live Football Match in Germany for Only €20 — 1 of 3
1 / 3

Watching my first live football match in a stadium was unforgettable. Back in Nigeria, I spent ₦200–₦300 every weekend at viewing centres, but in Germany I found a ticket for just €20. On match day, the ticket also served as free public transport two hours before and after the game. I arrived early, scanned the QR code at the gate, and found my seat three rows behind the goalkeeper. I learned that standing tickets can cost as little as €10. Inside the stadium, vendors walked the aisles selling beer, snacks, and ice cream. When PSG scored, the crowd erupted in song and cheers. I shared high-fives with strangers and soaked in the incredible atmosphere. I believe every football fan should try this at least once. The experience was not just about the game, but the energy. Next, I hope to catch Victor Boniface in action.

What other tips did you find for affordable matchday experiences in Germany beyond the €20 ticket?

I agree, booking regional trains early and bringing snacks cut costs even further on matchday.

It's interesting you spent just €20, but ticket prices can vary widely depending on the opponent and league level.

Was that €20 ticket for a Bundesliga match or one of the lower divisions?

Are you sure ₦200–₦300 weekly viewing in Nigeria really matches the full stadium experience abroad?

Consider checking club websites early for combined ticket and transport offers, they often release cheaper seating options before matchday.
