Bovi and Nomzamo Mbatha Set to Host the 2026 AMVCAs
Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards has unveiled its dynamic hosting duo for 2026: Nigerian comedian and storyteller Bovi and South African actress and producer Nomzamo Mbatha. Bovi brings decades of stage mastery to the ceremony. His brand of humour and cultural insight has sold out shows across Africa, Europe, and North America and earned acclaim for productions like Visa on Arrival and Back to School. Nomzamo has risen from award-winning roles on screen to executive producing and global advocacy. Known for her performance in a major streaming hit and her work with the UNHCR and philanthropic foundations, she embodies pan-African excellence. The 12th AMVCAs run from May 6 to May 9, 2026, in Lagos, featuring Young Filmmaker’s Day, Icons Night, Cultural Celebrations, and a grand finale at the Eko Hotel Convention Centre. This year’s theme, “Honouring Craft, Celebrating Culture,” promises a bold showcase of African storytelling.
