Diddy Scores Court Win as Majority of Dawn Richard’s Lawsuit Is Dismissed
Diddy has won a significant legal victory after a federal judge threw out most of Dawn Richard’s civil claims. Only her copyright-related allegation can be refiled in New York state court. Richard sued in September 2024, alleging that Diddy’s demands led to sleep deprivation, weight loss and rashes, and that he touched her inappropriately at a studio. The judge ruled that the vast majority of her claims were filed after the statute of limitations expired. In response, Diddy’s attorney called the allegations a rewrite of history timed to promote Richard’s new album. Despite the dispute, Richard previously collaborated with Diddy on Danity Kane, Dirty Money and the 2020 reboot of Making the Band.
