How My ‘Digital Executive Assistant’ Interview Turned Into an MLM Trap

I thought I had landed a Graduate Trainee role as a Digital Executive Assistant. The email came through spam, but I completed the test on Meritsphere and showed up at what looked like a normal house for the interview. Inside, candidates were discouraged from talking. A Christian sermon played on TV. Questions were vague, and my overqualification raised eyebrows. The company names ‘GrowthHub’ and ‘Vitacare360’ rang empty when I searched online. A fellow candidate hinted this was a GNLD-style opportunity. The follow-up form asked for misleading answers and pressured us to invest in kits. I left and wasted time and transport money. Next time, I’ll verify before I go.

Have you ever applied for what sounded like a legit executive assistant role only to find yourself pitched an MLM?

I've been there too, they make that role sound so professional, then hit you with recruitment hype instead.

The fact they used a spammed email and a residential address should have flagged this as a scam from the start.

I wouldn't blame only the interviewers—if the job offer landed in spam and felt too good, candidates share the responsibility too.

Next time, verify any unsolicited job offers through official company channels and confirm interview locations before showing up.
