Ex-Convict Misses Job Interview to Rescue Driver From Overturned Car

Ex-Convict Misses Job Interview to Rescue Driver From Overturned Car — 1 of 2
1 / 2

Aaron Tucker, a 32-year-old father rebuilding his life after prison, was travelling to a job interview in Connecticut when he saw an overturned car that had begun to smoke. Although he knew the bus would leave without him, Tucker got off and joined workers from a nearby repair shop to pull the injured driver from the vehicle. The driver was taken to hospital. Tucker missed the interview but said helping was the right thing to do. After residents heard about his actions, they raised more than $23,000 and offered him clothing and interview support. He says he hopes to set aside part of the money for his son's college education.

In an emergency, call for help, alert nearby people, and assist only when it is safe to do so.
