Two labourers, Aduak Effiong and Godwin Etim, appeared at the Akure Chief Magistrates Court in Oke-Eda, Ondo State. They face charges of conspiracy, stealing and threat to life in relation to a N10 million Toyota Corolla. Prosecutors say the offences took place on January 24, 2026 at Shoprite Roundabout, Akure. The men allegedly stole the vehicle belonging to Ojo Akinlade and later threatened the driver, Taiwo Oladele, demanding N100,000 for its return. Defence counsel Toun Mary Yinusa asked for bail, promising the defendants will attend future proceedings. Magistrate Sunday Adedapo granted bail of N500,000 each with one surety in like sum.
