Osun Police Arrest 24 Suspected Cultists and Political Thugs Ahead of 2026 Election
The Osun State Police Command has arrested 24 suspected cultists and political thugs in intelligence-led operations across the state. The move forms part of efforts to restore peace and tackle criminal elements before the 2026 governorship poll. Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Gotan, MNIPS, said the Command remains committed to curbing cult violence and political thuggery. He commended media partners and residents for their support in gathering credible intelligence. Gotan warned that recent cult-related killings and politically motivated disturbances will not be tolerated. He assured law-abiding citizens that officers will act professionally, neutrally, and impartially while upholding the rule of law. Residents are urged to sustain collaboration by providing information that can prevent crime and maintain public safety across Osun State.
